Joining Method MMA
Q: When did you join Method MMA?
A: I started since the last year of Absolute MMA and I just stayed.
Q: What inspired you to start training at Method MMA?
A: Some of the people that I know of stayed so I stayed, Friendship I guess.
Q: What were your first impressions of the gym and the community?
A: Better than the old one, more space plus the heavy bag. Training atmosphere stays the same nice and chill.
Training Experience
Q: Which class is your favorite and why?
A: My favourite class gotta be Wrestling, Body slam & pin > crank & choke 😉
Q: What’s your favorite aspect Of Grappling and Muay Thai?
A: Physical competition, the good side of it is through training we are getting healthier and stronger. Even when we get punched in the face or get smashed on the ground, we learn to fear and mistakes, which is what keeps us away from doing stupid things, and we actually learn to appreciate the value of ourselves.
Q: How have you seen yourself progress since you started?
A: It’s good to know my limit and keep pushing myself, learn to understand more of the series of branches of the system.
Q: What has been the most challenging aspect of your training?
A: Push myself after hours, and keep functioning like a good fighter.
Personal Insights
Q: What benefits have you experienced from training at Method MMA (physically, mentally, socially)?
A: Physically and mentally toughen me up. Being here let me open up to more people and it gives me more opportunities to learn from those who have more living experience than me. And training keeps me out of trouble:)
Q: What keeps you motivated to train regularly?
A: Basic instinct, I always been training since my teenager year.
Q: How do your friends and family feel about your training?
A: My family think it’s good to be able to protect myself, and I’m certified badass between my friend, some of them call me Trevor:)
Community and Atmosphere
Q: Who are your favorite training partners and why?
A: Zhai always been my favorite member, hard, keep going, never give up, and constantly reading and learning, he inspired me in lots of ways.
Q: How have the coaches at Method MMA impacted your training journey?
A: Coaches and people here took my ideology of fighting to another level.
Q: Can you share a memorable moment or achievement since joining?
A: I have done one grappling match and one kickboxing match so far, people showing me love and support every time. And the afterparty is always going to be one of my favorite time of the year.
Advice for New Members
Q: How have the beginner classes helped you in your BJJ journey?
A: It helped me understand the stages of grappling and basic control.
Q: What advice would you give to someone just starting their BJJ journey?
A: Learn how to fall, be humble and patient.
Q: What should new members expect when they join Method MMA?
A: Expect nothing, I start rolling very early,thinking I’m big and strong untill a lady half of my size throw me of like I’m nothing.
Personal Touch /
Q: What are your hobbies or interests outside of MMA?
A: Fighting and motorcycle.
Q: Share a fun fact about yourself that your gym mates might not know.
A: I used to fencing and I’m pretty serious about it, that transform me into a southpaw.
