INTERCLUB BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU TOURNAMENT FOR BEGINNERS | PUDONG

An interclub Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament for beginners was held at Method Pudong. The event was organized for white and blue belt athletes and became an important milestone in the training journey of our students.
The interclub format created a comfortable and supportive environment for those experiencing competition for the first time. For many participants, this was their first time stepping onto the mats in a tournament setting, where it is important not only to demonstrate technique, but also to manage nerves, control emotions, and follow competition rules.
Throughout the day, matches took place across various weight categories. The main focus of the tournament was not the final result, but rather:
• the application of fundamental techniques,
• understanding positions and control,
• sportsmanship and respect for the opponent.
After the competition, a belt promotion ceremony was held. For some participants, this day was especially meaningful — they not only challenged themselves in competition, but also confirmed their progress by advancing to the next level.
Such events are an important part of our philosophy: competitions are viewed as a tool for learning, development, and building confidence, rather than an end goal. Interclub tournaments help students grow in a structured way, step by step, without unnecessary pressure.
We would like to thank all participants, coaches, and partners for the atmosphere, discipline, and support shown on the mats. We continue to develop Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu culture and create an environment where everyone can progress at their own pace.
